There are many reasons why you may wish to move your life and family to another country.

There are many reasons why you may be considering moving your family to another country, you may have personal family issues and think that a move to another country will put everything behind you. This is probably not the best reason to move as you will probably find that your problems will follow you at some time or other. You may just want a more relaxed outdoor lifestyle, exciting work challenges, a better climate, better education, crime may be a major issue and you wish a safer environment for your children or maybe you just want a little excitement or an adventure.

We moved from UK to New Zealand nearly 11 years ago and found the move to be exciting. We discovered a lifestyle change for the better!

It can be very exciting, moving your whole life to another country and sometimes people make a snap decision without putting any great thought into it, and just follow their heart; this is what we did. We found that we were very lucky, we found people befriended us and gave us great kindness and support. We realised that it is very important that you make the right decision for you and your family when moving to New Zealand, as not everyone's experience could be as successful as ours.   Most people love it here in New Zealand, but there are some people that arrive and for personal reasons find that they have made the wrong decision and go back home, maybe 3 months or 1 year down the line or sometimes longer. 

You wouldn't find Living in New Zealand too different from UK

Living in New Zealand is not too different to living in UK and for us it was the right move and building a new network of friends is a very important part in the settling in process. We would recommend joining a sport club, it is a great place for meeting people.  New Zealand is very much an outdoors nation and its people are very sports orientated. You will also find you will make friends through your children's school, the workplace and get invited to neighbours BBQ's, and you will find everybody in general very friendly.  You are normally asked to take a plate of food when you go to a BBQ and it can be really interesting sharing all the different platters.

There does not appear to be any class distinction here, which is great, and also very little prejudice.

There was very little information out there to help people moving to New Zealand when we moved to New Zealand 11 years ago. It would have been of great benefit to us if we could have had more information available to us then.
